Confidence scores are statistical indications of the likelihood of accuracy for a match determined by Dihedral’s algorithms. There are two score ratings, ‘High’ and ‘Possible’, that qualify for GXR data to be shared subject to publisher permissions. Data that does not achieve of one these ratings will never be shared between a publisher and subscriber.

Rating Definition Example
High Very high probability that the match is a valid match. High matches are preferred for use cases that directly impact a customer’s booked trip. A unique name (e.g. Grace McAllister) with an exact match on address, email and phone number.
Possible It is possible that there is a match. This confidence level could be acceptable for use cases that are more marketing-focused or have less consequential impact to a customer if the match is invalid. A more common name (e.g. Michael Smith) with an exact match on address and phone number, but different email addresses.

Changes to Confidence Scores

The match confidence rating of any given match may change over time. As a change in confidence occurs, the new confidence level will be reflected in the Subscriber API for any active GXR. A reason code will accompany the new confidence level indicating the likely root cause for the change. These reason codes apply whether the confidence score increases or decreases:

  • Change to the Dihedral Algorithm: a new version of the Dihedral Algorithm has calculated a different confidence level.
  • Change in Data: New or updated data has been received from a publisher or subscriber that has impacted the confidence score.
  • Subscriber Reported: A customer has given a subscriber feedback that a match is either correct or incorrect.
